Sinaya knows the grief, responsibility, honor, and hope that comes with being a senior leader working for a better world. She has worked as a scholar and leader in higher education for over 15 years focused on racial, gender and sexuality, disability and immigrant justice.
Sinaya is a Co-Founder and Consultant with Chosen Collective, a consultancy to support organizational capacity building. At Chosen Collective she leads the educational vision and enacts the organizational strategy driving the workshops, retreats, programs, and collaborations.
She also serves as the Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging at the Department of Human Resources at the historic Oberlin College and Conservatory. This inaugural position was created to lead employee continuing education, leadership development, and skill building to recruit, retain, and sustain an inclusive, global workforce.
Sinaya is a scholar and PhD student at Michigan State University. Her research amplifies the organizational benefits of affinity spaces and writing retreats as places of creative respite and dynamic idea generation, particularly for Women of Color. Her work promotes a model of contemplative education, cultural inclusion, and holistic wellness to support the brave leadership and creative risk taking needed to support the next generation of educators.
